Documents Required for PAN Card Correction
The applicant is obliged to provide additional documentation evidence to support their request for correction or alteration in PAN information such as the name of the father, his name, and birth date For example:
- Change requests (marginal corrections like spelling corrections, the expansion of initials.,) in the name of the applicant or his father are required to be accompanied by valid evidence of identity that contains corrections to the information.
- The request for a change (significant changes) in the name of the applicant or his father is required to be substantiated by proof that contains proof of the name change from the previous to the new, in addition to the identity proof. The documents that will be considered proof for this purpose include:
- For ladies who are married Change of name due to marriage - wedding certificate or marriage invitation card the publication of the name-change date in the gazette', a duplicate of the passport showing the husband's name (or in reverse).
- Individual applicants that are not married Name-changes are published within the Gazette.
- For businesses the ROC's certification for a name change.
- For partnerships updated Partnership Deed
- For all other categories that are registered organizations (AOP/Trust/BOI/AJP etc. ) - the revised registration/deed/agreement.
- for Limited Liability Partnership- the registrar of LLPs certificate to allow name change
- For Foreign Citizens:-Passport, Person of Indian Origin (PIO) Card, Overseas Citizen Card. The Bank's Statement of Account, NRE Bank account, Citizenship identification number of the person applying (if they are citizens of a different country) as well as the Taxpayer identification number attested by Apostille Indian Embassy or the Indian High Commission or the Indian Consulate, or the authorized official of the scheduled bank that is registered in India that have branches abroad
- The request for correction of the birthday (for people) or day of incorporation (non-individuals) should be accompanied by documents issued by competent authorities containing correct dates.
PAN Card Address Change/Update Procedure

- This service can be utilized by those who want to update their addresses on the PAN database by Aadhaar.
- For access to the address update facility, Aadhaar is mandatory and an email ID or mobile number must be registered with Aadhaar.
- One-time password (OTP) is delivered to your mobile number or email ID, which is linked to your Aadhaar to create an Aadhaar Based E-KYC.
- After the generation of the Aadhaar-based e-KYC, the information according to the Aadhaar will be updated in the PAN Database.
- After the change of your address within the PAN Database, after the update of address in the PAN database, an acknowledgment of the update will be sent by mail to mobile numbers as well as the email ID that was provided by the user when making use of this facility.
- The mobile number and email IDs will be added to the PAN database of the Income Tax Department.
How to Apply for PAN Card Name Change

- You will be taken to a page on which you can fill in the details you'd like to alter.

Pan Card Correction Form Fee
The fee for processing PAN applications is as under:
If a physical PAN Card is required: 107/- (including goods & service tax) will have to be paid by the applicant. In case, the PAN card is to be dispatched outside India, then an additional dispatch charge of ` 910/- will have to be paid by the applicant.
If a physical PAN Card is not required: ` 72/- (including goods & service tax) will have to be paid by the applicant. PAN applicants will have to mention on the top of the application form “Physical PAN Card not required”. In such cases, an email ID will have to be mandatorily provided to receive an e-PAN Card.
