In India, the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, of 2013, is a law that aims to protect women against sexual harassment at work. The Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian Parliament, passed it on 3 September 2012

Act on Sexual Harassment at Workplace

Complaint against sexual harassment. In order to comply with Section 9 (2), 

1. If the woman who is being harmed cannot make a formal complaint due to her incapacity physically, she can file a complaint.
   1. It could be her relative or friend.
   2. Her co-worker
   3. Officers of the National Commission for Women, State Women's Commissions or
   4. Anyone who knows about the incident with the written consent from the woman aggrieved;
2. If the woman who is being wronged cannot make a formal complaint due to her mental incapacity she can file a complaint.
   1. She is a friend or relative.
   2. A special educator; or
   3. A psychiatrist or psychologist who is qualified;
   4. The person or entity that is responsible for her care or treatment.
   5. Anyone who knows about the incident, whether it is a relative or friend of hers or a qualified psychiatrist or psychologist or guardian.
3. If the woman is not able to file a complaint for some other reason, anyone who knows about the incident can do so with her consent.
4. If the woman who was harmed is deceased, anyone with knowledge of the incident may file a complaint, provided that her legal heir has given written consent.
