According to the National Policy of Education of 1986. Government of India started Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVS). Currently, the JNVS is spread out in 28 States and 8 Union Territories. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test - 2023
The JNV selection test for admission into Class-VI at JNVs in the academic session of 2023-24 is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 29th April 2023 from 11.30 am in one phase in all Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas.Navodaya Form 2023 PDF - Eligibility
- The candidates must be bona fide residents of the district, and students in class V at the time of the 2022-23 academic session in a Govt./Govt. They must be enrolled in a recognized school within the district of JNV and where they wish to enroll.

How to apply for JNV (Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya), Selection TestAdmission form 2023
- The process for submission of application for the JNV Selection Test has been simplified through the online process at https://cbseitms.rcil.gov.in or directly click on this link.
- Candidates must fill out the online application form, upload their certificate and photograph with signatures from both the candidate and/or the parent/guardian.
- Attachments should only be in jpg format and no larger than 10 kb.
- Candidates from NIOS should have a B" certificate, and their residence must be in the district they are seeking admission.
- The platform is free and open source. Applications can be submitted via any device, including desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones, etc.
Reservation for Rural, SC/ST Girls & Disabled Children
- Candidates from rural areas must fill at least 75% of seats, while the rest are filled with candidates from urban areas.
- The reservation of seats for children from Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes will depend on the population of the district. However, the reservation cannot be lower than the national average (15% for SCs and 7.5% for STs) and must not exceed 50% for both categories combined.
- These reservations are interchangeable with the open-merit candidates.
- The OBC students will receive a 27% additional reservation over and above that of the SCs and STs.
- Reservations for OBC students will be made according to the Central List.
- All OBC candidates who are not on the Central list can apply as general candidates.
- A minimum of one-third of all seats must be filled by girls.
- Reservations are made for Divyang (i.e. According to GOI standards, children who are Orthopedically Handicapped (Hearing Impaired), Visually Handicapped, and Hearing Impaired) will be given priority.
